Motorola’s Moto G8 Plus Announced With Three Cameras And A Big Battery

Motorola’s Moto G8 Plus is the latest G-series device from the budget phone manufacturer. It’s the latest in a series of smartphones with previous entries that have been some of the best budget smartphones you can currently buy. The biggest improvements come with the phone’s camera, which has been bumped up from a dual rear camera to a triple-camera array. Alongside the G8 Plus, Motorola has also announced the Motorola One Macro and Moto E6 Play. The devices will be coming to Europe, but not the US.

The Moto G8 Plus comes with three rear cameras, a main 48-megapixel f/1.7 camera, a 2-megapixel f/2.2 depth sensor, and an 8-megapixel f/2.2 ultra-wide angle camera with a 117-degree field of view. There’s also a laser autofocus sensor on the back, while on the front of the device there’s a 25-megapixel selfie camera enclosed within a small notch above the phone’s 6.3-inch 1080p display.

Moto G8 Plus features:

--The Moto G8 Plus borrows its combination of cameras from existing Moto One devices. The G8 Plus gets a 48-megapixel quad-pixel camera with F1.7 lens as the main unit (uses the Samsung sensor) from the Moto One Vision. Hence, it also gets it impressive night mode. The second camera is the 16-megapixel Action Camera from the Moto One Action, which has its sensor mounted 90-degrees off-axis for recording horizontally-oriented videos when held vertically. The 5-megapixel depth sensor accompanied by laser autofocus is used for the portrait mode.

--The G8 Plus uses the Snapdragon 665 chipset and that makes the phone powerful enough to be on par with the segment bestsellers. The Xiaomi Mi A3 uses the same chip with stock Android whereas the Realme 5 also uses the same chipset. Motorola has optimised the interface for better performance.

--The design of the Moto G8 Plus looks similar to the Moto One Macro but Motorola has refined the design slightly. The rear panel is still made of plastics but has a better build quality than before. The G8 Plus also gets new gradient colours.

--The Moto G8 Plus is the only phone in its category to offer a dual stereo speaker setup. The speakers are tuned by Dolby and in our limited use, they sound loud with decent audio quality.

Moto G8 Plus price and availability:

The Moto G8 Plus will go on sale on Flipkart from the end of October and there are some good offers for customers as well. The Moto G8 Plus costs Rs 13,999 and will be available in two colours: Cosmic Blue and Crystal Pink.
